Matej Salmik

Matej Šalmík is the Director of the National Cyber Security Centre. He has been working at the National Security Authority (NBÚ) for more than nine years, during which he held several positions, including Director of the Department of Education, Support and International Cooperation, and Director of the Institute for Security Studies.

As of 1 June 2026, he took over the leadership of the National Cyber Security Centre, joining from the position of Director of the Accreditation and Certification Section. His professional priorities include strategic cyber security management, education, awareness‑raising, and the field of post‑quantum cryptography, to whose development he contributed as an expert during the preparation of strategic documents.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing football.
