Miroslav Michalko

Miroslav Michalko serves as Director of the TECHNICOM University Science Park at the Technical University of Košice and as an Associate Professor at the Department of Computers and Informatics of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics at TUKE. Throughout his career, he has consistently connected academia with industry and the innovation ecosystem, focusing particularly on digitalization, cybersecurity, and technology transfer. As the General Project Manager of the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) CASSOVIUM, he helps companies and organizations in Eastern Slovakia navigate digital and cybersecurity transformation. He also chairs the Cybersecurity and Digitalization Section of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he promotes practical measures to increase the resilience of businesses against cyber threats.

He is the founder of the NO TO CYBERBULLYING conference, through which he has long been raising awareness of safe behavior in the digital environment and the protection of the most vulnerable users. His professional activities also cover emerging technologies, innovation infrastructure, and the development of the region’s research and innovation potential. In addition, he serves as an expert and evaluator in international projects and initiatives, contributing to the shaping of innovation policy at both national and European levels. His expertise is built on experience gained from dozens of domestic and international projects, where he combined technological, organizational, and security perspectives. In his presentations, he emphasizes that cybersecurity should not be perceived solely as a technical issue, but as a societal and managerial challenge. He offers audiences the perspective of a professional operating at the intersection of research, education, and real-world practice.
