Pavol Helebrandt

Pavol Helebrandt is an Associate Professor at FIIT STU in Bratislava, where he leads the Cyber Security and IoT (CSI) research group. His work connects academic research with operational practice in network security monitoring, including 5G, IoT, and hybrid cloud environments. His research also spans AI for security (AI4Sec) and the security of AI systems (Sec4AI).

He takes part in network security projects, including the STU Competence Centre, covering threat detection, honeypots, and IoT device security. With legal scholars from the Faculty of Law, Comenius University, he co-authored a book on the cybersecurity of automated vehicles. As lead and scenario designer of the faculty's Cyber Range, he trains the next generation of security specialists. He brings the perspective of someone working at the intersection of research, education, and real network operations.
